Is Buzz Lightyear From The Same Universe As Star Wars?

Is Buzz Lightyear in the same universe as Star Wars?
When I was a very young kid, Toy Story and the Star Wars prequels had just been released. Me and my friends would watch these films constantly and when we wernt glued to the TV we'd be running about pretending to be Darg Vader or Buzz Lightyear. So naturally, my inner child couldn't help but get excited about the new lightyear film that's coming out next year alongside all the awesome Star Wars content dropping in 2022.
Pixar has a long tradition of adding Easter eggs hinting towards a shared universe between all of their films but today, we'll discuss a few details from the trailer that point towards buzz lightyear actually being from the same universe as Star Wars. After all they are both Disney franchises so it's not impossible. And if not, they're definitely fun Easter eggs for us to enjoy.

First of all we have coaxium, introduced to us in Solo. For those of you that don't know, Coaxium is a kind of hyperfuel which allows star ships to travel faster than the speed of light. In the trailer for light-year, we also get to see something that looks very similar to coaxium getting placed into buzzs spaceship. Of course, this might just be some other sci fi faster than light fuel but it certainly looks very similar.
However, this is certainly backed up when Buzz is actually entering lightspeed. Not only is the button labeled hyper launch, the same as in Star Wars, it also looks as though he is travelling through hyperspace. And of course, you could argue that many different sci fi franchises use similar looking faster than light travel but this definitely looks almost exactly the same as hyperspace in Star wars.
And last but not least, it looks as though Buzz visits a degobah like planet towards the end of the trailer. We don't get to see Yoda or anything like that, in fact it seems as though there's some kind of robot or droid hanging out there. However, the similarities are pretty striking and I'd be surprised if this was a mere coincidence.
So are we going to see Buzz lightyear facing off against Darth Vader anytime soon? Well we won't know for definite until the film is released next year but I'd say most likely not. While it's fun to speculate that they might be in the same universe, I think it's more likely that Pixar is simply cramming the film full of Star Wars Easter eggs. After all, it wouldn't be the first time Buzz Lightyear's story has referenced Star Wars.
So what do you think of my theory? Do you think we'll see Buzz Lightyear in the Star Wars universe? Or are you hoping that Pixar's just having a little bit of fun with Easter eggs. Let me know down in the comments section. Thanks for watching guys and as always may the force be with you.
