Many people grew up thinking that there is only one ideal way to pursue a career, which is usually climbing a straight and standardized career ladder. You might have pursued this kind of path only to feel disillusioned about it after 5-10 years. You might even feel like you’ve made the ‘wrong’ decision with your first career. Multiple Careers is a different way to look at careers which allows you to fail, change, evolve, and incorporate all of your interests - and even integrate it with other aspects of your life!
Most people associate the word multiple careers with having several careers at the same time, and while that is one option, there is another more sensible way to pursue several careers - that is, consecutively, over a lifetime.
In this episode, I want to re-introduce the concept of multiple careers, straighten out some misconceptions, and talk about what it can do for your career. Why Multiple Careers, who is it for, how can this philosophy can liberate you, what does life expectancy have to do with this? Let’s talk about all of this in this episode!
